You Are Enough

I was having a conversation recently with one of my dearest friends about the subject of loving ourselves. We were discussing that when there is a lack of self-love, it can show up in many different ways depending on the person. We could both relate to the feeling of not being “enough,” based on some of our early childhood experiences and programming.

When we are feeling like this, it can signify an area or quality within us that needs loving the most, and the best love we can provide for it comes directly from ourselves. It’s about being the highest and best version of ourselves, to first accept the reality of this imbalance, and then take responsibility of being the one who has the power to stand up and acknowledge that it’s time for a conscious change, so we can then nourish and heal ourselves, just as we always needed. An important part of initiating this change is also about truly believing we are enough.

You Are Enough.

Those 3 little words are 3 big words that can change your life. They certainly changed mine. Those 3 words helped reprogram some pretty negative self talk that lingered from my childhood. When I didn’t believe it, I still said it to myself. I said it every day. I even set a reminder in my phone telling myself this. When I began doing this, I felt quite raw. To read the words, “you are enough” pop up daily would at times bring tears to my eyes. It was a sting, as if I should have already felt this way about myself, which then turned to the feeling of being acutely aware of my lack of self-love.

Little by little, I began to believe it. For a good while, it was my most profound affirmation. I had made a true commitment to myself; I wanted my life to change, and I knew that the way to create a long lasting, strong foundation for myself was to be rooted in self-love. I needed to truly know my worth, and I didn’t care how long it would take for my belief to be unshakable. Looking back, I see how even that sentiment itself was formed from the desire to believe in my own worthiness; that on a subconscious level, I knew it already existed.

Fast forward to today and I KNOW I am enough. I feel that I am without any shadow of doubt. It is strong, it is stoic. And you know what else I learned through all of this? I learned that we ALL, are ALWAYS enough. Right here, right now. Every. Single. One. Of. Us. No matter what.

What I experienced was a journey of bringing a subconscious thought forward into my consciousness, as a core belief.

And not only is it a powerful belief, but it also changes everything, from the choices we make, to how we spend our time. Our world becomes a magical reflection of that very belief.

I chose to believe in myself before I could see it. I now believe in me, and because I chose to believe in me, I believe in you because this journey showed me what we are all truly capable of: seeing ourselves with the clarity of unconditional love.
